Planets to Scale
The following table shows real diameters for all the planets in our solar system. Use the same procedure described for Earth to complete the table for the 1-to-10 billion scale.
Hint: For large planets, it will be more useful to give your final answers in centimeters than in millimeters.
| Planet | Diameter | Scaled Diameter (real diameter ÷ 10 billion) |
| Mercury | 4,880 km | |
| Venus | 12,100 km | |
| Earth | 12,800 km | 1.28 mm |
| Mars | 6,800 km | |
| Jupiter | 143,000 km | |
| Saturn | 120,000 km | |
| Uranus | 52,000 km | |
| Neptune | 48,000 km |
